Hello, I’m David, a senior at UCCS pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication and Information Design, expecting to graduate in Fall 2025. I am passionate about bridging healthcare and technical communication, and my education provides a strong foundation in both fields.
I bring 15 years of healthcare experience, with UCHealth. For 10 years, I served as a unit secretary at Memorial Hospital Central, a Level 1 trauma center, where I handled inventory management, answered and delegated call lights, and provided traction for ED patients with hip fractures. This role honed my organizational skills and gave me a deep understanding of healthcare operations.
Currently, I am a CNA at Grandview Hospital, specializing in post-surgical care for hip, knee, and shoulder procedures. My work involves assisting patients with daily activities, addressing their needs, and ensuring a safe environment—experiences that have further solidified my patient care skills and highlighted the importance of compassionate healthcare.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated father of two, an avid hiker, and a creative enthusiast who enjoys sketching, journaling, and video games.
I am confident that my combination of education, extensive hands-on experience, dedication, and compassionate approach makes me a strong asset to any healthcare team. I look forward to contributing my skills and growing further.
